Penn Cricket Club Centenary 1908 - 2008  
   
Penn Cricket Club is one hundred years old! This year marks exactly one century since the choristers of Penn Church formed the club and a series of events are taking place throughout the year to commemorate this special time in our history. The events cover a range of activities from pure fun and celebration, to prestigious junior county matches. Keep checking this page for additions to the programme.

April

19th - A Fancy Dress Party as a fun way to kick off the centenary events! 7.30pm

 

A Cricketing Century

May

5th - Recreation of Edwardian 'travel to the match'. A horse and cart will transport cricketers in Edwardian garb to the Mount Rd. ground. This will be followed by a 20/20 cricket match featuring Penn cricketers of the past, present and future. See Pictures

7th - Under 10s County Match. Staffordshire v. Derbyshire

11th - Staffordshire Under 11s match

 

 
June

14th - Penn CC appearance on Sky Sports' Cricket AM

14th - Club sleepover. Junior members join in with a national attempt to break the world record for a sleepover.

15th - Tea with the President. Club President John Fellows hosts an invitation event at Mount Rd

29th - Girls Under 13 County Match - Staffordshire v. Worcestershire

 

 
July

6th - Junior Sixes Tournament

25th - Barn Dance. A live band and a marquee at Mount Rd provide an ideal way to dosy-doh!

26th - Summer Ball. Our main event hosted in a marquee at Mount Rd.

27th - John Moore Memorial Match

 

 
August

5th - Under 15s Dudley District Match

24th - 20/20 Competition

 

 
September

19th - Youth Cricket Presentation

20th - Senior Cricket Presentation

 

 
October

November

7th - Sportsman's Dinner. Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton. Guest speaker to be confirmed

6th - Early Christmas Party with Centenary 'closing ceremony'
