The club was formed in 1908 by the
choristers of Penn Church. The first matches were played on Penn Common in
company with the golfers. The club moved twice before settling at the
present ground at Mount Road in 1935. Old wooden structures were replaced
by a brick built pavilion in the early sixties. Further improvements have
been made in more recent times with a brick built score box and equipment
storage facilities being completed in 1989 and new changing and shower
facilities being built in 1991.
The club found great
success on the field during the late eighties and nineties winning the
Staffs Club Championship on 4 occasions and the Staffs Club Knockout in 8
years out of 10.This success culminated in promotion to the Birmingham
League in 1998. In the first year in the league the club won Division Two
without losing a match.
The 2007 season sees the
club running five senior and several youth sides with the First and Second
X1s playing in the Birmingham League Division 2 whilst the Third, Fourth and
Fifth X1s playing in the Staffs Clubs Championship.
